Molasses Cookies by

Ingredients
1C packed brown sugar
3/4C shortening
1/4C Molasses
1 egg
2-1/4 All-purpose flour
2tsp baking soda
1tsp ground cinnamon
1tsp ground ginger
1/2tsp ground cloves
1/4tsp salt
3TBS granulated sugar

TBS granulated sugar
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 325*
2. Beat brown sugar, shortening, molasses and egg with an electric beater in a large bowl.
3. Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar.
4. Shape dough by rounded TBS into 1-1/2inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
5. Place dough balls on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
6. Bake 13-16 minutes or just until set and cookies appear dry.
7. Remove cookies from sheet immediately and play on cooling rack.
