Ingredients
Beef ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 pack (6 links) of Italian sausage
1 medium yellow onion chopped
1tsp garlic powder
Cook and stir meat and spices on medium to medium high heat until brown. Sir in onions and cook for 3 minutes. Drain almost all of the grease and place in a large pot
Sauce ingredients:
1 lb can crushed tomatoes (I like using the hunts with parsley added to it)
1 15oz can tomatoes sauce (I like using the kind with Italian herbs)
2 tbl parsley
2 tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp basil
Sir all ingredients into meat mixture and being to a slight bill and reduce heat to low (I use a crockpot and I leave it on low for 2 hrs) reserve 1/2 cup meat sauce for cheese mix, let it cool
In a separate bowl that has a kid to cover it mix:
24 oz cottage or ricotta cheese
1/2 parmesan cheese
1 tbl parsley
1 tbl sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic
1/2 bag of five cheese Italian shredded cheese
Prepare noodles according to the box, I cook 11 just in case if any rip and the kids eat the messed up ones with left over meat sauce.

Instructions
Layering the lasagna as follows:
Noodles
Meat sauce
Cheese mix
Noodles

Noodles
Remaining cheese from shredded cheese, I usually end up using another bag of cheese. Cover lasagna with aluminum foil.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, uncover lasagna and bake for another 15 minutes. Let cool for at least 15 minutes, this is when you should make your garlic bread and salad.
