2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup powder sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. mint extract
1/2 cup York mint patties, quartered
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
1 (12 oz.) cool whip, divided
1/2 cup chocolate chips. divided
Remaining cool whip
York mint patties, pieces


Crust: Beat flour, margarine, butter, sugar, salt and mint extract together.

Pour half of batter into a 13 x 9 x 2 x inch baking pan. Place mint patties over batter. Pour the remaining batter over the mint patties.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Cool completely.

Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla & peppermint extract. Fold in a third of cool whip, chocolate chips. Add 3 drops of red food coloring. Spread over crust.

Topping: Spread remaining cool whip over dessert. Sprinkle additional mint patties.

Refrigerate overnight.
