Glazed Cinnamon Scones by

Ingredients

-2 cups flour
-2 tsp. baking powder
-1/2 tsp. baking soda
-1/2 tsp. salt
-1/2 cup butter
-1 egg
-3 TB. honey
-1/3 cup buttermilk (or 1/3 cup milk + 1/2 tsp. lemon juice)
-1-2 TB. sugar
-1/2 tsp. cinnamon

-1 cup powdered sugar
-1-3 tsp. milk
-1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400F. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Separate the egg white and yolk. Set egg white aside. In separate bowl, mix egg yolk, honey, and buttermilk. Add to the dry ingredients and stir. Form dough into a ball on a floured surface. Roll or pat out into 1/2 in. thickness and 8 in. diameter. Cut into 8 equal triangles. Transfer to greased baking sheet. Whisk the egg white until froth forms and brush on top of scones. Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on top. Bake at 400F for 10 minutes. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until glaze forms. Drizzle over scones soon after baking.
