Cover the edges with foil to keep from burning or over browning.

Ingredients

4 Cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1 & 3/4 shortening
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon white or cider vinegar
1 large egg

Instructions

Mix flour, sugar and salt well with a fork in a large bowl (cut in) Add the shortening and mix with a fork or (cut in - can use food processor). Mix 1/2 cup water, the vinegar and egg together in a small bowl. Combine with the flour mixture, stirring until all ingredients are moisten. Divide dough into 5 portions and shape with into flat round patties ready for rolling. Wrap in plastic or wax paper and chill for a half hour. Additional pie crust can be frozen at this point. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10-13 minutes.
