Bread Pudding by

NOTE: It was very sweet with the sauce poured over it. Next time we are going to try it without the sauce.

Ingredients

2 C. sugar
5 large beaten eggs
2 c. milk
2 t. vanilla extract
1 c. packed brown sugar
¼ c. butter, softened
1 c. chopped pecans
3 c. cubed bread, allow to stale overnight in a bowl

Sauce:
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter, melted
1 egg, beaten
2 t. vanilla

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 13 X 9 X 2” pan. Mix together sugar, eggs, milk in bowl. Add vanilla. Pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 min. In another bowl, mix and crumble together brown sugar, butter and pecans. Pour bread mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over the top and bake for 35-45 minutes or until set. Remove from oven.
Sauce: Mix together the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla in a saucepan over med. heat. Stir together until the sugar is melted. Pour over bread pudding. Serve warm or cold.
