Ingredients
MEAT MARINADE:
1 lb flank steak, -cut thin & against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp avocado oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
FOR THE SAUCE
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup beef stock
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
Sprinkle of red pepper flakes (omit if you don’t prefer spicy)
2 tsp cornstarch
FOR THE BOWL
White or brown rice
1, 12oz bag of broccoli
Green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds

Instructions
1. In a medium size bowl, add the thinly sliced beef. Then add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp of avocado oil, and 1 tbsp cornstarch. Mix well and set aside.
2. Add all the sauce ingredients to a small bowl and mix well, making sure the cornstarch is fully mixed in.
3. At this time, start cooking your broccoli. I bought a bag of microwave broccoli to make my life easier, but you can also steam it on the stove.
4. To make the broccoli on the stove, add about 1/4 inch of water to a large pan and bring it to a boil. Add the broccoli to the pan in an even layer, then cover. Let the broccoli steam for 3-5 minutes until it can be pierced with a fork. Do not overcook the broccoli; otherwise, it will get mushy!
5. Preheat a large pan to high heat and add 1 tbsp of avocado oil. Once hot, add the beef in a single layer and let it sit for around 3 minutes without touching it so it has a nice char.
6. Toss the beef and allow it to cook on the other side for around 2 minutes; just before the steak is finished, add the sauce and lower the temperature. Let it simmer for around 3-5 minutes until it’s thickened and the meat has finished cooking.
7. Finally, add the cooked broccoli and mix well.
8. Serve over rice and top with green onion and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
