Homemade Lasagna by

Ingredients

Sauce:

1 lb ground beef
1 lb hot Italian sausage (opt.)
1 (20 oz) can of tomatoes
1 t oregano
1/2 c onion, chopped
1/2 t salt
garlic salt/powder to taste
1/2 t pepper
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste
1 t sweet basil

Cheese Filling:

3 c cottage cheese
1 t pepper
1/2 c parmesan cheese
1 lb mozzarella cheese
2 T parsley flakes
2 beaten eggs

1 (8 oz) pkg lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

Instructions

1. Brown meat and onions with garlic salt in a large skillet. Drain fat.
2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, sweet basil, and bay leaf.
3. Simmer for 20 mins.
4. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375 F and make the cheese filling by combining all ingredients well into a medium-sized bowl.
5. in a 9" x 13" pan layer: noodles, meat sauce, cheese filling, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat.
6. final layer do noodles and then cheese to top off (no meat sauce or cheese filling)
7. Bake uncovered for 30 mins. Let it stand abt. 10 mins before serving.
