Chocolate layer bars by

Ingredients

2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 oz. Cream cheese
2/3 cup 5 oz. can evaporated milk
1 cup Chopped walnuts
½ t. Almond extract
3 cups Flour
1 ½ cups Sugar
1 t. Baking powder
½ t. Salt
1 cup Margarine, softened
2 Eggs
½ t. Almond extract

Instructions

Preheat oven 375 degrees.
Combine chocolate chips, cream cheese and evaporated milk in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.
Stir in walnuts and ½ t. almond extract. Blend well, set aside.
Combine remaining ingredients in large mixing bowl; blend well with mixer until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press half of mixture in greased 9” x 13” pan. Spread with chocolate mixture. Sprinkle rest of crumbs over filling.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.
