Norwegian Almond Puff by

Ingredients

Pastry :
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup flour
2 Tbsp water

Filling:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup flour
3 eggs ( beaten )

Glaze:
1 1/2 cup powder sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 Tbsp almond extract
1-2 Tbsp warm water

2 packages of sliced almonds

Instructions

Pastry:
Cut butter into flour, sprinkle with water.
Mix, then roll into a ball.
Divide ball into half.
On baking sheet, pat each half of dough into 3 x 12 strip.
Place strips 3 inches apart.

Filling:
In medium saucepan, heat butter & water to rolling boil.
Remove from heat & quickly stir in almond extract & flour.
Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball ( about 1 minute).
Remove from heat,beat in eggs all at once, beat until smooth.
Divide in half.
Spread each half on strips.
Covering completely
Bake 350 for 50 minutes

Glaze:
Mix all well, spread on top of barely cooled strips
Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Cover until serving time
