OLD TAVERN CORN FRITTERS by

Ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1/3 cup warm milk
1 can whole kernel corn; drained
1 tablespoon butter; melted
powdered sugar (to dust them with)
corn oil (for deep frying)
warmed maple sugar (to drizzle over them)

Instructions

Combine flour & baking powder & set aside. In seperate bowl, beat eggs & milk together. Stir in the corn and melted butter. add this to the dry ingrediants until well blended. Heaat the oil to 375 degrees or to when a drop of batter sizzles and starts to dance! Drop by spoonful carefully into oil and fry until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon & drain on paper towel. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm drizzled with syrup.
