Ingredients
1lb ground turkey (or ground beef)
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 minced garlic cloves
2tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 cup dry green lentils
2 cups water
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5oz) petite diced tomatoes
1 (4oz) can diced green chilies
2tsp chili powder
1tsp cumin
1/2tsp pepper
Cilantro or sour cream (optional)

Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat brown the ground turkey. Add the diced onions, garlic, tomato paste, and salt and cook until meat is browned and onions are soft and translucent
2. Add turkey mixture into slow cooker.
3. Add lentils, water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green chilies, chili powered, cumin, and pepper to the slow cooker.
4. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-6 hours or until lentils are tender.
5. Scoop into serving bowls and add sour cream or cilantro if desired. Enjoy!
