Pie Crust by

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1/3 cup shortening or butter (or combination of the two)
1/4 tsp. salt
Cold water

Instructions

Add salt to flour and stir to blend well. Cut in shortening/butter until the fat is evenly distributed throughout. Add enough water to hold the dough together (start with about 1/4 cup and then add one teaspoon at a time).

Roll into circle and place in pie pan, trimming as needed. Fill and bake as directed in your pie recipe.

If crust is to be baked alone, prick with a fork and bake at 425 until browned. This will only take about 6-9 minutes.

*This makes a single crust. If you want your pie to have two crusts, you need to double the recipe.
