Ingredients
3 pounds sweet potatoes
1 tablespoon butter
2 apples, peeled and diced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup millk or cream (can be low-fat)
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup pecans, chopped, toasted

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F.
Baked yams until soft, about 1 hour. Set aside to cool.
Toss diced apples with lemon juice.
Melt butter in saucepan, add apples, raisins, and brown sugar. Simmer for about 5 minutes, until apples are tender. Add a tablespoon of water if too dry.
Peel yams. Mash yams in a large bowl; add spices, maple syrup, milk and egg. Mix well.
Spray a baking dish with non-stick spray. Add yams and bake for 20 minutes.
Sprinkle pecans on top and bake for 10 minutes more.
