Tomato Sauce by
1kg of tomatoes
1 tin of tomatoes in puree
two small apples or one large apple cut into pieces
one small onion cut into chunks
2 tsp of stevia
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
half tsp of cayenne pepper
kg of tomatoes
tin of tomatoes in puree
Bring all the ingredients to the boil in a saucepan. Stir to distribute the spices.
Reduce the heat and simmer for around an hour or until the sauce reduces by almost half.
Blend with a stick blender or in a food processor.
If your sauce is still a bit runny return to the heat and reduce for a little longer.
Store in a clean glass jar in the fridge for up to a month.
