Thick Pizza Crust by

Ingredients

2 c bread flour, divided
2 c warm water, divided
1 tsp sugar
2 pkgs dry yeast (about 4 1/2 tsp)
3 1/4 c all purpose flour, divided
1 tsp salt
2 tsp olive oil
cooking spray

Instructions

1. Combine 1 c bread flour, 1 c warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl. let stand for 15 minutes

2. Combine 3 c all-purpose flour, remaining bread flour, 1 tsp of salt in a large bowl; make a well in the center. Add yeast mixture, remaining cup of hot water, and 2 tsp oil to flour mixture. Stir well. Turn dough out onto floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic. (Rather than turning out onto floured surface, can use the claw on the Kitchen Aide mixer) about 10 minutes. Add remaining flour to avoid sticking to hands

3. Place dough in a lg bowl coated with cooking spray. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes until doubled in size. (Press 2 fingers into dough. If indentation remains, dough has risen enough)

4. Spray pizza pan and roll dough evenly onto pan. Top with sauce and toppings.

Bake at 450, check after 12 minutes and adjust time accordingly.
