Mexican Stuffed Shells by

Microwave method: Do as directed but top with cheese and onions, cover and cook until cheese is melted.


1 box large stuffing shells, cooked and drained
1 lb hamburger meat, cooked and drained
1 (12 oz) jar mild picante sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese (more if desired)
1 package taco seasoning or 3 tbs homemade taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
1 can French Fried Onions


Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Spray an 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Combine picante sauce water. Stir 1/2 cup of this mixture into the cooked meat along with 1/2 cup of cheese. Add taco seasoning, mix well. Pour enough of the remaining sauce mix to cover the bottom of the baking dish. Stuff cooked shells with meat mixture, arrange shells in baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over shells. Bake for 30 minutes, then top with remaining cheese and French fried onions, then bake for 5 more minutes.
