Apple Crisp by

My favorite way to have this is with real maple syrup - yum!

Ingredients

Ingredients

5-6 apples or enough to fill a 8 by 8 pan (peeled, cored, and sliced)(I like to use a glass pan)
¾ cup of flour
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp of cinnamon
½ cup of butter (one stick)or use butter flavored crisco

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until crumbly.(I use my hands) Next, peel and put apple slices in your baking dish, taking care to fit as many in as possible. Next, cover the apples with the cinnamon crumb topping. Be sure to cover the top of the dish completely—the more topping, the crispier the crisp! If you like lots of crisp double the crisp recipe. Bake the crisp in the heated oven for about half an hour or until the crumble turns light brown. test the apples with a fork as you want them nice and tender. If they are not quite done cover the dish lightly with foil so the crisp will not burn.
