Marinara Sauce and Meatballs - Aimee by

Marinara Sauce
29 oz can Hunts tomato sauce, or use 15 oz can tomato sauce & 15 oz can crushed tomatoes
6 oz can Contadina tomato paste
1 T Olive oil
1 Small yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 T dried basil or 3 fresh basil leaves
1 T or more Sugar
Salt & Pepper to taste

1 - 1 1/2 lbs Ground beef
2 eggs
chopped parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 - 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/3 - 1/2 cup Romano cheese, grated


Sauce: Put 1 T olive oil in heated pan and saute onions & garlic. Add pinch of basil. Add can of tomato sauce and simmer 15 mins. Add can of tomato paste and cook about 10 mins. Add rest of ingredients. Add about 1/2 can of water to thin and simmer about 30 mins.

Meatballs: Mix ground beef, eggs, parsley & garlic. Then add breadcrumbs and Romano cheese. Make meatballs about 2 inches and cook in simmering sauce for about an hour.
