Sausage Souffle by

You can vary this recipe to use other types of meat: bacon, ham, or beef. I also like to add tomoatoes, bell peppers or onions to give it some extra flavor!


1 lb. pork sausage, cooked, crumbled and drained
6 slices of bread, crusts removed
3 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
5 eggs
2 cups half & half
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard


Butter the slices of breadand cut into cubes. Place in a 9x13 baking dish (dish does not have to be greased). Sprinkle with sausage and top with cheese. Beat remaining ingredients together and pour over sausage mixture in dish. Chill overnight.

Bake uncovered at 350 for 40-45 minutes. (Be careful to place the cold dish in the oven while the oven is preheating!)
