Classic French Bread 1.5 lb by

Set bread maker to: French Bread Setting - with Light Crust


1 cup + 2 tablespoons Water
2 Teaspoons Margarine
1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3 1/4 cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 3/4 Teaspoon Fast Acting Yeast


Start time is 3:50 (1:40 before needing oven)
At 2:10 on timer, turn off. remove dough, knead
Rise in greased bread pans for 1 hr ( last 15 min, remove from oven for preheat)
Raise oven temp to 350 deg F
Bake for 65 min

Brush several times with sugar solution for glazing finish while warm
