White Castle Burgers by


1 pound hamburger meat
2/3 cup onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
1 package dinner rolls


Mix hamburger meat with salt, pepper, bread crumbs and eggs in large bowl, combine well. Finely chop onions and spread evenly over 9x13 pan. Spoon and pat down meat over onions, covering entire pan. Then with a drinking straw, poke holes close and evenly over entire meat. This allows the onion juices to rise though the meat, just as they do at White Castle. Place in preheated oven at 400*F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and add cheese, if desired. Place back in oven until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes. Remove from oven and cut into squares the size of your rolls.
