The Famous Ritz Carlton Hotel 1920's Tea Room Lemon Pound Cake by


3 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups sugar
1 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup shortening
5 eggs
1 cup milk
6 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 lemon, zested


Preheat oven to 350*F. Spray two loaf pans with nonstick cooking spray or 1 large Bundt pan. Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs. Add dry ingredients and milk. Add lemon juice and zest. Pour into pans. Bake for 55 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before turning cake out of pan.
