German Black Forest Cake by


1 box chocolate cake mix
1 can cherry pie filing
3 cups whipping cream
3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 cup cherry brandy
chocolate shavings
a few maraschino cherries


Make and bake cake mix according to package making two round cakes. Pour brandy over cakes while still hot. Let cool completely. Whip cream adding powdered sugar. Whip cream until proper consistency. Do not over whip or you will have butter. Place bottom layer of cake on cake plate. Cover with pie filling. Cover that with 1/3 of whipped cream. Gently place top layer on top of whipped cream. Cover with remaining whipped cream. Sprinkle with shaved chocolate and a few maraschino cherries.
