Bread Pudding by


2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 cups bread, cubed
1/2 cup raisins, optional

Vanilla sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 Tablespoon vanilla


Preheat oven to 350*F. In a saucepan, heat milk and butter together until hot. In a large bowl, mix together eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in bread and raisins. Stir in the milk mixture and let sit to soak up mixture. Pour into baking pan. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes.

May serve with whipped cream, vanilla sauce, or ice cream.

For Vanilla Sauce:
Place ingredients in a pot and bring to boil. Let cool to warm before serving over bread pudding.
