Blackened Salmon by

This is our favorite go-to meal when we only have 15 minutes to throw together dinner. Store the spice mixture in an airtight container and it should last you 4-5 meals. We serve this delicious salmon on top of a large salad.


2 tbsp ground paprika
1 tbsp ground cayenne pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground thyme
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
salmon fillet (1.3 lbs feeds two)
1/4 C butter, melted


Mix spices in an airtight container. Skin salmon fillet. Brush salmon fillet on one side with butter and sprinkle evenly with the spice mixture.
In large skillet over med-high heat cook salmon butter side down about 2-5 min. Meanwhile, brush other side with butter and sprinkle spice mixture. Turn fillets and continue cooking just until fish is easily flaked with a fork.
Store remaining spices, will last for 4-5 meals.
