Sweet Sour HotDish - Paige Danielson by

When I warmed it up the next day, I had to add another cup and half of water. The rice really soaks up the moisture in the crockpot.

Ingredients

2 Pounds Hamburger
2 Cans (20 oz each) of Pineapple in 100% Juice (bits or chunks)
30 ounces of Instant Brown Rice (one 1/2 pineapple can full)
20 ounces of Water (one pineapple can full)
1/8 cup Dried Onion
1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/8 cup Corn Starch
Salt / Pepper

Instructions

Brown hamburger in skillet.
Add dried onion and brown sugar
Let those caramelize with the hamburger then add:
ketchup, balsamic vinegar, corn starch, salt and pepper.

In Crockpot:
Dump the two cans of pineapple including the juice
Fill pineapple can up one and half times with rice and dump in.
Fill one pineapple can up with water and pour in.
Pour hamburger mixture on top of that.
Let that cook for awhile on high, once rice is cooked, stir.

*Add more water as needed if rice soaks up all the juice.
*Add more brown sugar if you want it a bit sweeter
*Add more vinegar if you want it a bit more sour
