Easy Sandwich Bread by

Ingredients

1 cup warm water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 TBSP active dry yeast
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 to 3 1/2 cups AP flour or bread flour
1 egg whisked with 1 TBSP water for top

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Add yeast and let sit for 5 minutes.

2. Add vegetable oil, egg, salt, and enough flour to form soft dough. Knead for 5 minutes.

3. Form dough into a smooth ball. Spray a bowl with oil and place your ball of dough coating entire ball with oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in oven or microwave for 15 minutes.

4. Punch down dough and knead for about a minute. Use dough for 1 large loaf or cut in half for 2 smaller loaves.

5. Form dough into a loaf by rolling into an oblong shape and tucking/pinching ends underneath.

6. Placed in greased bread pan and brush the top with egg wash.

7. Cover and let rise again for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

8. Uncover and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and inside temp registers 195-200 degrees.
