Great Grandma Jordan's bread and butter pickles by Powell family recipe book

Ingredients

20 cucumbers sliced 12 onions 1/2 C salt 1 quart vinegar 2 C sugar 2 teaspoons celery salt 2 teaspoons mustard powder 2 teaspoons ginger 1 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions

Soak sliced cucumbers in cold water overnight. Drain and add onions, salt and let stand for 1 hour. Drain again.
Make syrup with vinegar, sugar, celery salt, powder, ginger and turmeric. Cook 10 minutes.

Place cucumbers and onions in jar, pour syrup over and seal in hot jars.
