replacing about 1/4 of the Parmesan Cheese with wheat bran might be an idea. it would work as a filler and add more fiber to the recipe. that small of an amount shouldn't affect taste much, if at all.

Ingredients

8 oz Pork Sausage 8 oz Ground Beef (~80% lean) 1 Large Egg 2 oz Parmesan Cheese 4 3/4 oz Green Onions - chopped 1/4 tsp Oregano 1/4 tsp Basil 1/4 tsp Thyme 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic 1/4 tsp Salt 1/8 tsp Black Pepper Topping 2 oz Tomato Sauce 1 oz Shredded Cheese Mix (mexican, or italian, or anything)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In a bowl, combine the Pork, Beef, Egg, Parmesan Cheese, Green Onions, Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Garlic, Salt, and Pepper.
3. Mix the ingredients, but don't over handle.
4. In a greased loaf pan, put the mixture from the bowl and form a loaf.
5. Top with the Tomato Sauce.
6. Bake in the over for 50 minutes.
7. Add the shredded cheese mix\
8. Bake until the cheese melts - about 10 minutes.
