Caramels by Doris Galloway

Ingredients

1 cup butter 2 1/4 cups brown sugar (packed) 1 cup light corn syrup 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla dash salt 1 1/2 cups pecans (chopped)

Instructions

In heavy 3 quart saucepan, melt butter, add sugar and dash salt; stir thoroughly. Stir in corn syrup, gradually add condensed milk, stir constantly. Cook over med heat, stir occaasionally to 240 degrees (firm ball stage) for 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, pour in buttered pan. When cool, cut into squares with wet, sharp knife.

Can use small cupcake paper's sprayed good with butter Pam.
Also can freeze and dip in chocolate.
