Lofthouse sugar cookies by janine

Ingredients

3 cups of cake flour 3 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp of salt 1 cup ( 2 sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature) 1 cup of white sugar granulated 2 large eggs 2 tablespoons of sour cream 1 tsp vanilla extract stand mixer with paddle attachment medium mixing bowl with hand whisk cookie sheets measuring bowls and spoons cookie sheets Icing 1/2 cup ( 1 stick of butter softened) 3 cups confectionary sugar 3 tablespoons of milk 1 tsp vanilla extract gel food coloring and sprinkles

Instructions

In a medium bowl combined cake flour, baking powder and salt , mix with hand whisk set aside.
In your stand mixer combine butter and sugar until light and fluffy on medium speed for two minutes. Add in your eggs one at a time, next add in vanilla and sour cream, whisk until combined scrape down the bowl as needed.
Gradually add in flour mixture until well combined. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.
Preheat oven to 350 f, roll dough into a ball flatten with hands to make it 2" thick repeat until all the dough is gone. Place cookies 2" apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes, then cool completely on cooling racks.

Wash your stand mixer bowl, and paddle. Soften butter for 45 minutes
whip butter for two minutes and gradually add in confectionary sugar. Once combined add milk and vanilla blend on medium speed for 2 minutes until fluffy. Add in food color and spread on cookies and add sprinkles.
