Start the icing recipe 5 min before the cake is done. I think this recipe is really called a sheet cake, but we found it in a cookbook typed as sheath cake.

Ingredients

* 2 cups sugar * 2 cups flour * 1/4 tsp. salt * 1/2 cup Crisco * 1 stick butter * 4 Tbsp. cocoa * 1 cup water * 1/2 cup buttermilk * 2 eggs, slightly beaten * 1 tsp. baking soda * 1 tsp. cinnamon * 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

Sift together the sugar, flour and salt. Pour Crisco, butter, cocoa and water in saucepan. Bring to a boil & pour over sugar & flour mixture. Stir well & add to buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix well.

Pour into 11x16" greased pan.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
