Simple Pie Crust by
Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
4 TBSP cold butter
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold water
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, cut shortening, butter, salt, and flour together.
2. Add cold water a couple TBSP at a time and stir with a fork until a ball forms. Be careful to not add too much water. Dough should be stiff and not sticky. Using your hand make sure all ingredients are incorporated nicely.
3. Cut dough in half and shape into two discs. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
4. If making a pre-baked pie shell, bake in 400 degree oven for 14-15 minutes until cooked through and no longer translucent.
