Start the icing 5 mins before the cake is done. I use powdered buttermilk. I mix the powder with the dry ingredients and the water it requires with the wet ingredients.


Sift Together: 2c sugar 2c flour 1/4 t salt Pour in saucepan: 1/2c Crisco 1 stick butter 4T cocoa 1c water Bring to a boil & pour over sugar & flour mixture. Stir well & add to: 1/2c buttermilk 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1t soda 1t cinnamon 1t vanilla


Mix well & pour into greased pan.
Bake 400 degrees for 20 mins.Notes
