Custard Vanilla - Microwave Instructions by Catherine Dunn

Makes: 500mL Vanilla Custard

For a thicker or thinner custard use more or less custard powder accordingly.

Ingredients

2 tbspn custard powder 2 cups milk

Instructions

1. Place 2 level tbspn of custard powder and 1 tbspn sugar in a large microwave safe jug (Pyrex 1L is ideal).

2. Blend with sufficient milk (approx. 2 tbspn) from 2 cups to make a smooth paste.

3. Gradually add remaining milk. Whisk well.

4. Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes. Whisk well. Set in the microwave on HIGH. At one minute increments, pause to stir and check consistency. When satisfied, remove from microwave and whisk well.

Tested in a 1000 Watt microwave oven.

HIGH = 100% power. Use only as a guide.

1 cup = 250mL

1 tbspn = 20 mL
