Jam Thumbprints by
2/3 cup butter 1/3 cup sugar 2 egg yolks 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 cup sifted flour 2 egg whites, slightly beaten 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts 1/3 cup strawberry jam
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Beat well. Shape into 3/4" balls. Dip in egg whites then in nuts. Press thumb in center of each. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack. Before serving, fill the hole with strawberry jam.
