Makes Its Own Crust Blackberry Cobbler by 1453143801

Ingredients

8 Tbsps (1 stick) unsalted butter 4 cups blackberries, washed 1 cup sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsps baking powder Pinch of salt 1 cup milk 1 tsp pure vanilla extract Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, optional

Instructions

Place butter in a large oven proof casserole dish or cast iron pan and place in a cold oven. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Place blackberries in a large bowl with 3 tablespoons of the sugar, set aside.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add remaining sugar, milk and vanilla extract, stir until combined.

Remove dish from oven. Pour batter directly into butter, and then pour blackberries and juice into the center of the batter. Do not stir.

Bake until golden brown, about 1 hour. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
