I substitute minced onions for chopped ones - use the amt. you wish. I've also used Southern Style potatoes (cubed).

Ingredients

1 (2 lb.) bag frozen hash browns (unthawed) 1 stick butter 3/4 C. chopped onion 8 oz. grated cheddar cheese 1 can cr. of mushroom soup 3/4 tsp. garlic powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 pt. (8 oz.) sour cream 2 C. Rice Krispies

Instructions

Place frozen potatos in 9x13" pan. Melt 1/2 of butter & pour over potatoes. Sprinkle onion & cheese over top. Mix soup, sour cream & seasonings - spread over top of potatoes. Melt remaining butter, mix with Rice Krispies & pour this over potatoes. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hrs.
