Apple Crisp / Crisp Dough by Emi

Ingredients

For Crisp Dough: -1 cup all purpose flour -2/3 cup granulated sugar -1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened For Apple Filling: -4 granny smith apples cut into desired size / shape, with or without peels -1/4 cup light brown sugar -1/2 tsp ground cinnamon -1/4 cup water

Instructions

Heat oven to 375*F

1. Spray baking pan

2. In a bowl, combine the apples with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir well and place into the pan evenly spread out. Pour 1/4 cup water over apples.

4. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, and softened butter in a mixing bowl. Mix with utensil or clean hands until well combined. The mixture should resemble wet sand. Sprinkle it evenly over the apple filling.

5. Bake for 40-45 minutes. The top should be golden brown and the apples bubbling at the edge of the pan. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy!

Tip: This crisp topping goes well with just about any filling, even pineapple!
