Sautéed Bamboo Shoots by
Ingredients
-1 can of bamboo shoots (drained and rinsed)
-1 tbsp sesame oil or any preferred cooking oil
-1 tbsp tamari (gluten-free soy sauce alternative)
-1/2 tsp curry powder (optional for a unique twist)
-1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
-Pinch of salt (to taste)
-1 tsp rice vinegar (optional for tang)
Instructions
1. Drain the bamboo shoots from the can and rinse them under cold water to remove excess brine. Cut them into bite-sized pieces if needed.
2. Heat neutral oil in a skillet or pan over medium heat.
3. Add the bamboo shoots to the pan and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through and slightly golden.
4. Stir in the tamari and cook for another minute to coat the bamboo shoots.
5. If using, add curry powder and ginger, stirring to combine.
6. Add a pinch of salt to taste and a splash of rice vinegar if desired, for a hint of acidity. Add sesame oil.
