Ingredients

MEATLOAF INGREDIENTS:

3 lbs hamburger
1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
1/4 cup minced onions
2 tablespoons sage

SAUCE INGREDIENTS:

3 cups ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 teaspoons mustard
1/2 tsp nutmeg
salt and pepper

Instructions

MEATLOAF:

Mix all MEATLOAF ingredients together with your hands. Do this LIGHTLY- do not squeeze them in your fingers, just mix them together. Otherwise, the meatloaf will be hard and heavy.

Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Don't use a bread pan, just put it in the shape of the loaf and bake it in a regular pan. TEN MINUTES before it is done, pour 1/2 the sauce on top of the meatloaf and let it bake that way until done.

SAUCE:

Around 25 minutes into the meatloaf cooking, start the sauce. On the stove, mix the SAUCE ingredients in a pan. Half goes on the meatloaf for the last ten minutes of baking, and the other half is available for people to serve themselves.
