Easy tall rising biscuits by Powell family recipe book


2 C flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 3 teaspoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 C shortening 1 egg 2/3 C milk


Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut in shortening. Beat egg and milk. Stir in dry mixture. Turn on a well floured surface, knead 20 times. Roll to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut biscuits with a lightly greased round cookie cutter. Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes.
