Toffee Squares by Mary Czechowicz

Ingredients

2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup butter (2 sticks) 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla Frosting 1/2 lb chocolate chips melted 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

Mix flour and salt. Cream butter well, add sugar gradually and continue creaming until light and fluffy; add well beaten egg and vanilla & mix well. Add dry ingredients gradually & mix. Spread batter in a shallow pan (10 x 15) and bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven. Remove from oven, spread with melted chocolate top with nuts & cut immediately into squares, remove from pan to wire cooling racks.
Cool thoroughly. Store in air tight container.

Bake 20 minutes @ 350 degrees
