Brownies by
Ingredients
1 cup All-purpose flour
½ t. Baking soda
½ t. Salt
½ cup Butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup Sugar
2 T. Water
12 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
1-1/4 t. Vanilla extract
2 Large eggs
½ cup Chopped nuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Combine butter or margarine, sugar and water over a low fire. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Add vanilla extract and half the chocolate chips (one cup). Stir until chips are melted.
Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time.
Gradually blend in dry ingredients. Stir in remaining chocolate chips.
Spread evenly into a greased 9” square pan.
Bake 30 to 36 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into 2” squares.
