Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour 1/2 t. soda 1/2 t. salt 1 c. margarine or butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1 t. vanilla 1/2 c. sesame seeds

Instructions

Sift flour, soda and salt into bowl. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy in a large bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla.

Stir in flour mixture, half at a time, and blend well to make a soft dough.

Wrap in wax paper and chill several hours (overnight is best) until firm enough to handle.

Roll dough 1 t. at a time into small bowls, then roll in sesame seeds to coat lightly. Place on lightly-greased cookie sheet.

Bake in moderate oven 8-10 minutes, or until delicately brown. Cool completely. Makes 3 dozen.
