Cream of Tomato Soup by Kraus Family

Ingredients

2 T. margarine 2 T. onion, finely chopped 3 T. flour 2 t. sugar Dash pepper, garlic powder, basil, oregano, thyme 2 c. tomato juice (or 1 c. tomato sauce + 1 c. water) 2 c. cold milk

Instructions

Sauté onion in margarine, blend in flour, sugar and spices. Remove from heat and gradually stir in tomato juice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute.

Stir hot tomato mixture into milk. Heat almost to boiling and serve.

Note: It is important to stir the tomato mixture into the milk, if you stir the milk into the tomato mixture, it will curdle.
