Tortilla Pie by Kraus Family

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion 15 oz. tomato sauce 1-2 t. chili powder 1 c. sliced black olives 1-1/2 c. grated cheese 6 corn tortillas 1/2 c. water

Instructions

Brown ground beef and onion until cooked; drain grease. Stir in tomato sauce and chili powder, and simmer while you get the other ingredients together. Arrange in layers in greased casserole or baking pan (8” x 8” or 4-6 c.) tortillas, sauce, black olives and cheese. Pour water over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Note: this recipe can be assembled earlier in the day or even the day before. It can also be doubled, using a 9” x 13” baking pan, or doubled using two smaller pans, saving the second pan in the fridge (for a week or so) or the freezer.
