Ingredients

4 Sliced onions 2 thyme sprigs Butter 6 cups beef broth Cognac Salt Pepper Gruyere bread

Instructions

Cook 4 sliced onions, 2 thyme sprigs in butter for 20 minutes covered
Uncover, cook until carmelized
Add 6 cups of beef broth
Simmer 10 minutes
Add cognac, salt and pepper
Top with gruyere bread
