Donna's apple pie by Ed

Ingredients

For apple mix: 5 tbs. flour 6-7 cups Granny Smith Apples 1 cup sugar 1 tps. Cinnamon 1 tbs. lemon For crust: 1 cup flour 1/2 cup shortening (crisco) Dash of salt 1/4 cup of water

Instructions

Crust:
Mix flour, shortening and salt with pastry blender or two knives until it is like meal or peas. Add water and mix into a ball. Roll out.

Filling:
Peel and core apples. Quarter the apples, take out the cores, and slice the apples 1/4" thick. If apples are dry, sprinkle with a little water. Pour in lemon juice. Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon together in a bowl. Stir in sugar, flour and cinnamon on apples. Line bottom of pie pan with first layer of pie crust. Fill crust with Apple mixture. Dot filling with butter. Cover with second layer of pie crust. Slice steam holes in top of crust. Bake in 425 deg. Pre-heated oven for 50-60 mins. Or until crust is nicely brown and apples are cooked through. (Test with a fork).
